Ok….this is an Atlanta attraction that is underestimated and one of the coolest and best kept secrets in Atlanta. Just getting to the museum on the coveted West Paces Ferry Road, will have your mouth dropped at the luxurious Buckhead mansions. Once inside the Atlanta History Center, there are art exhibits, and an extensive collection of Civil War artifacts which emulates life during the Civil War, and everything Bobby Jones! But that’s not all…. Once you complete the inside of the Atlanta History Center, there is another world outside! You can experience life in 1860 in the The Smith Family Farm or 1930 in the Swan House. Atlanta History Center has a rotation of events which include lectures, reenactments, and they offer camps for kids! And if all that weren’t enough, the grounds are beautiful for hiking, lounging, or just enjoying nature…all in the heart of the city!
